ABOUT US

About Patton Pest Control

Patton Pest Control was conceived in 1964 when John R. Patton found out that his original job as a pest manager for Cleveland area A&P Stores was to be eliminated. A&P had decided to eliminate in-house service. They became John R.’s first customers and the foundation on which his company was built. His idea was to provide pest control management based upon the biology of pest species, environmental conditions of the particular structure involved, and a thorough knowledge of pest control procedures. Mr. Patton had received two degrees in Entomology from the Ohio State University and had the background he needed to be successful in reaching his goals.

Steady growth continued and in 1971 a second Patton was added to the roster, John S. Patton, fresh out of college with a B. S. in hand from Miami University (go Red Hawks!). John S. started as a technician, slowly taking on more and more responsibilities until his father's death in 1985 left him with the task of keeping the family legacy intact. Since then, the company has continued to grow and John S. Patton has become one of the leaders in the pest control industry. A veteran of service, he has been president and has held several offices of the Greater Cleveland Pest Control Association (GCPCA), the Ohio Pest Control Association (OPCA), and the National Pest Management Association (NPMA). The NPMA is an industry organization representing over 4,000 members worldwide. Mr. Patton worked his way to the president of the NPMA through many years of hard work in other offices of that organization including director, regional director, and vice president, and received awards for his achievements in those areas. He is especially proud of his work with this fine group.

Continuing the family involvement is daughter Molly C. Patton Marsh. Molly worked with Patton all through her college years in the summer and has been with us since her graduation from Miami University. Molly is currently Chairman of the Board of the Greater Cleveland Pest Control Association, and the President of the Ohio Pest Management Association. She is active in NPMA & in the Professional Women in Pest Management Committee at NPMA. Molly has attended the Purdue University Pest Control Conference each year since coming to work full time. She is definitely following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather.

In November of 2012 Patton Pest Control Co. was proud to add another member of the family to our team. Mary Patton, the youngest Patton daughter, joined us to help lead our office staff and our company. Mary has a BS from The College of Wooster and regularly attends the Purdue annual conference as well as local and national training sessions. Mary started her career by working summers with us during her college years.

Patton Pest Control is dedicated to safe and effective pest control through complete knowledge, proficient techniques, and accumulated experience. We strive for prompt, thorough service and will continue to do so by a relentless pursuit of knowledge. Yearly training is received through conferences such as the one offered at Purdue University and in-house training sessions that help us keep aware of the best, most innovative, and environmentally friendly measures to use when servicing your home. Our technicians are licensed by Ohio's Dept. of Agriculture and receive training far beyond what is required.

Patton's philosophy--offer the best and most knowledgeable service to protect you and your family.
